Due to the fact that permeate contains no dissolved organic matter, ammonia and other components that can react with chlorine compounds, consumption of disinfectants for securing bacteriological safety of swimming pool water is reduced greatly. Also, purified water has a minimal concentration of calcium and magnesium salts as well as bicarbonate ions which significantly protect swimming pool pumps, valves and other installations from corrosion and scale deposits.
